Johnson Lambert Donates Laptops to Support Chicago High School Graduates
When five Chicago high school seniors received laptops from Johnson Lambert on graduation night, the surprise marked more than just a generous donation—it represented a bridge to their next steps in education. For these students from Perspectives IIT Math & Science Academy, the laptops were a lifeline to their college ambitions, providing them with the essential tools to kick-start their studies.
The initiative began with a conversation between Alexa Caffrey, a longtime teacher at the academy, and a friend at Johnson Lambert, who recognized an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. With the support of Johnson Lambert’s IT team, the firm coordinated the donation of gently used laptops, enabling Alexa to surprise five of her graduating seniors—each selected based on need—with devices they could use as they prepared to attend college this fall.
“It was truly the best feeling ever to be able to give my students such a resource to support their futures,” Alexa shared. “I don’t think anyone will ever really understand how much I and my students appreciate this. They all cried and smiled ear to ear. Thank you and the Johnson Lambert team so very much for thinking of me and my students!”
The recipients, set to attend schools including Norfolk State University, Columbia College, Georgia State University, and Northern Illinois University, expressed their excitement and gratitude, knowing the laptops would be invaluable in the journey ahead. For Johnson Lambert, this donation reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting communities and empowering future leaders through impactful, hands-on support.
